Next time you feel yourself rushing, especially if it’s for no other reason than it’s just your default mode, slow down.
Take your time to walk mindfully and see how that can change how you feel.
Try taking four or five steps for an in breath, hold the breath for one and then breathe out for four or five steps. Finally hold for another step and repeat.
Doing this between meetings, on the way home or through a park can really transform a busy, over-working mind into a relaxed, calm and peaceful one.
It’s great if you are churning things over in your head too, as you have to concentrate on counting the steps and breathing, therefore you become much more present with yourself.
